Recruitment Agency - Staff Recruitment

Recruitment Agency & Staff Recruitment:

Recruiting Staff can be conducted in-house or outsourced. If you choose to do it yourself you can save a fair amount of money as Recruitment Agencies do charge a fee for finding you a candidate (Another option would be to use a government funded agency they will find staff for you for free click here for more info). Fees will vary but in most cases it is a percentage of the salary of the candidate placed. For example if a Recruitment Agency was able to find you new staff and the agreed salary was $45,000 then a certain percentage of this amount will be the fee. This fee is normally payable after 3 months, ensuring the candidate will stay working for you. If they leave within the 3 months then the recruitment agency will find you another candidate. Though these terms do vary upon the agreement you may have with the recruitment company.

Why use a Recruitment Agency?

- In most cases they will be able to find you staff alot quicker than if you would have to do it yourself.

- They will sift through the resume's and interview best suited candidates and will send over the best applicant to you for an interview. In the end you have the final say which candidate to hire.

- Recruitment Agencies would get better pricing deals on job advertisements so they will be able to advertise the position on several employment websites and hence able to source out more applicants. The price of a job advertisement on the major job boards in australia is around $160.00 per job ad as a casual advertiser. Recruitment agencies pay significantly less than this price.

- They hold a database of current job seekers who are looking for work

Do-It-Yourself Recruitment:

You have the option to advertise online and print (or both) depending on your budget. There are a few job sites that offer free job advertising like Australian JobSearch, NowHiring and Gumtree. If you choose to advertise your job vacancy online you can have the job ad active for up to 28 days and you will be able to write as much description about the job as you like (most cases).

To get better quality applications on your online job ad include as much information about the position on offer, the experience and qualifications required from candidates and include information about your organisation and the benefits available.
